It snowed!

Segovia, Spain

OMG! We thought that we had seen it all when we drove from Madrid to Segovia over the mountains. At the top of the pass, at 1751m above sea-level, we encountered a light dusting of snow.

But on Saturday morning, when we woke up, it was to discover a snowfall of about 2 inches (5cm for the metric-minded folk)! And we were planning on cycling from our hotel into Segovia which would be about 5 kms!

There is a Troopy under all that snow!
On the cyclepath into Segovia – Thankfully, the cyclepath was well separated from the road and lunatic drivers.

Did we cycle? YES! Was it cold? YES!!

And it snowed again in the afternoon, so we had to cycle back to the hotel through the snow!

Covered in snow!
Water Filtration hut – clogged with ice cubes!
No bullfights today – too much snow!
Men at Work – shovelling snow?
What all well-dressed, frozen cyclists are wearing
Segovia under snow!
More snow… I can remember when I thought that snow was a novelty and wow! Now, it is an inconvenience!
View down the valley from the castle –
Amongst all that fog, is more snow!
